Working together for Pinktober 2022
The widespread global campaign of National Breast Cancer awareness month plays an important role in raising both funds and awareness for breast cancer screenings and treatments. At Clarins, health and wellness are one of our foundations, forming a core aspect of the Group’s corporate identity. So it’s no surprise that Clarins offices found many different ways to support the cause, from raising funds for cancer treatment organizations to directly supporting cancer patients with restorative beauty treatments.
For Pinktober this year, Clarins Switzerland was an official sponsor of three charity golf tournaments hosted by Pink Ribbon Switzerland. They also sponsored the organization’s Pink Ribbon walk, during which our Beauty Coaches gave make-up touch-ups and beauty advice to the more than 5,000 participants. The events raised more than 136,000 Swiss francs, which will go to the organization’s early cancer detection efforts. Clarins Ireland also chose to raise funds for the cause, organizing a beauty product raffle to raise money to support pioneering research done by Breast Cancer Ireland.
Clarins support for breast cancer isn’t limited to just the month of October, as demonstrated by our longstanding partnerships with organizations that host make-up workshops for women undergoing cancer treatments: Clarins Spain works with La Fondation Stanpa, Clarins UK with Look Good, Feel Better and Clarins France with Belle & Bien. For those actively living with cancer, the negative physical changes provoked by treatment can dampen the spirits. To help cancer patients feel more like themselves and regain their confidence during these workshops, Clarins Beauty Coaches volunteer their time to demonstrate makeup techniques and provide the participants with practical advice about how to adjust beauty routines in light of the changes to the skin, hair and nails that can be caused by cancer treatments. In a special event for Pink October, Clarins Middle East undertook a similar initiative, partnering with the Breast Friends Foundation to host a spa day featuring make-up applications for 40 breast cancer patients and survivors, giving them a space to unwind, relax and share their stories with one another.
In addition to these amazing all-star initiatives, all our Clarins offices worked more generally to raise awareness about breast cancer, from encouraging everyone to wear pink to promoting breast cancer awareness campaigns on social media.
While breast cancer survival rates have improved tremendously in recent decades, breast cancer remains the most prevalent cancer in the world. We are so proud of our employees for coming together to raise awareness and funds for this important cause, and for giving confidence back to patients battling this awful disease.
