Clarins celebrates Pinktober 2023

This October, our teams around the world came together for Breast Cancer awareness month, also known as “Pinktober.” For another year, we worked to raise our collective awareness about this disease and its prevention, all while giving our employees the keys to getting more involved with the cause.

With health and wellness core to our corporate identity, October at Clarins is marked with creative, inspiring, and action-oriented programming on the theme of breast cancer awareness. For another year, our local initiatives went beyond awareness alone, encouraging our employees to take action aligned with the Pinktober movement.

Promoting self-care and active involvement in our individual health journeys was a major focus. To ensure accurate and insightful educational programming around breast cancer, we turned to our neighboring medical centers and hospitals. Thanks to a partnership with NOVO hospital in Pontoise, for example, we gave our Clarins Laboratories employees a front-row seat to a medical expert, who answered a medical question relevant to Pinktober each week.

In France, we also transformed in-person educational events into a digital training campaign to reach even more members of the Clarins team. Made up of 5 modules, the online course invited our employees to become experts on self-screenings for 5 cancers, including breast cancer. And with each training completed during Pinktober, we made a 10 euro donation to belle & bien, a French non-profit organization that hosts make-up workshops for women undergoing cancer treatments.

We also got active, partnering with the Institut Curie to offer our employees a range of physical and well-being activities, from yin yoga to strength training. As our employees discovered new ways to get moving, we contributed to the Institute’s major fundraising campaign, helping support their research into cancer treatments. We also joined incredible waves of pink in the streets of Bologna and Paris, participating in solidarity races and walks hosted by Race for the Cure in Italy and Odysséa in France.

Although breast cancer might fade from the public conversation past Pinktober, our support for those affected by breast cancer continues strong. In Switzerland, for example, we have renewed our commitment to Pink Ribbon Switzerland, becoming an official sponsor of their 2023 charity golf tournaments. We’re also proud to volunteer our make-up and skincare products and expertise to our longstanding partner organizations like Look Good, Feel Better in the UK, its French branch Belle & Bien, La Fundación Stanpa in Spain and, who work to help cancer patients regain their confidence and feel more like themselves.

Thank you to everyone who made this past month a beautiful Pinktober, full of breast cancer awareness and action!
