Clarins, the Plastic Odyssey Expedition’s first partner

The Clarins group was the first to support the ambitious Plastic Odyssey project, a boat that is powered solely by the energy from the plastic waste harvested at each of its stopovers. The Clarins brand is now continuing this commitment, becoming the first official partner of this expedition, which has become a reality and will set off in 2020 for three years around the globe.
This partnership between Clarins and Plastic Odyssey is part of a long-standing initiative to educate people about plastic recycling and preserving the oceans. In 1999, when Christian Courtin-Clarins was sailing in a polluted environment in Asia, he took the avant-garde decision to ban plastic bags at all his points of sale. Since then, Clarins and all the group’s brands have had a particular interest in protecting nature and work alongside the people and organizations involved in this cause, creating long-term partnerships.
This vision and shared values are today bringing Clarins and Plastic Odyssey together to write a new story of an eco-friendlier circular economy and jointly initiate lasting change the world over.
