Logo BCorp

In 2025, the Clarins Group obtained B Corp certification for its brands and all of its activities worldwide. This recognition is testament to our excellence in sustainable development; it also validates the direction of our strategy towards a positive impact business model.

A sustainable approach

Clarins' actions for the environment

For years, we have been taking action to protect the environment: more than 70% of our plants are organic (80% by the end of 2025), and we favour sustainable agriculture, with 30 % of our plants being produced according to this model between now and 2030. We are also members of the UEBT.

We are reducing our impact at every stage: eco-designed packaging, continuous reduction in emissions, freight at over 98% by sea and carbon neutrality since 2020.

Clarins' initiatives for its employees

At Clarins, our 8,000 employees are at the heart of our success. We promote male/female equality, with 62% per cent of women in top management, and we value diversity thanks to an exemplary DEI policy.

Value sharing is at the heart of our model, with profits redistributed according to performance and CSR criteria. According to our internal engagement survey, 92% of our employees are proud to work for the Clarins Group, and training plays a central role in their work.

Clarins' actions for the community

At Clarins, we promote long-term partnerships based on mutual success. Since 2007, we have supported 23 fair trade supply chains around the world, with premiums directly benefiting local communities.

We engage our suppliers in a CSR approach and collaborate with our peers to raise environmental standards in cosmetics.

We also carry out charitable initiatives to help people and the planet, including the Clarins Children’s Award, the Arthritis Foundation, the provision of 45 million school meals with associations and the planting of 1 million trees with Seeds of Beauty.

Clarins' initiatives for its customers

At Clarins, we build trust with our customers based on dialogue, quality and transparency. Since 1954, we have placed listening at the heart of our approach in our 200 or so shops and points of sale around the world, our spas, our 5,000 beauty coaches and the thousands of interviews we conduct each year.

The quality and safety of our products are based on French manufacturing, complete control of the production chain and rigorous testing, with suppliers committed to a responsible sourcing charter.

We demonstrate our transparency through Clarins T.R.U.S.T., a traceability platform using blockchain technology, which tracks 150 products and over 125 plants.

Independent, gender-balanced family governance

Since its creation by Jacques Courtin in 1954, Clarins has always been run by the Courtin family.

Today, the company remains completely independent thanks to 100% family ownership.

This stability and independence guarantee sustainable development based on a long-term vision.

B Corp, a very exacting label

An international benchmark

Founded in 2006 in the United States, B Corp brings together companies that wish to affirm their social mission and demonstrate their positive impact through an independent assessment of their overall performance.

1,9% of B Corp labels worldwide awarded to large companies
9000+ certified companies worldwide

Proof of excellence

An international benchmark, this label is one of the most comprehensive for measuring the impact of companies. Our raison d’être, “Making life more beautiful, passing on a more beautiful planet”, is written in our bylaws, affirming that our economic performance goes hand-in-hand with social and environmental responsibility.

A holistic vision of CSR

The BIA (B Impact Assessment) evaluates companies in five areas: environment,
workers, community, customers and governance. Candidates may also submit one or more IBMs (Impact Business Models), which are business models designed to create a specific positive impact for certain stakeholders.

A duty of transparency

B Corp is based on a principle of transparency. In other words, every company that obtains the label must publish and communicate its BIA rating to all its stakeholders.

Up for renewal every three years

Obtaining B Corp certification is not a permanent achievement. At the end of a three-year period, the B Corp company must have continued to make progress, as the label’s requirements are regularly revised upwards.

B Corp is recognition of the actions and commitments made by our company to move towards a more responsible model every day. It is also a wonderful reward for our teams.

Acting for tomorrow

Towards a business with a positive impact

Far from being an end in itself, obtaining B Corp certification represents a new step forward for Clarins in its quest to become a positive impact company. The steps outlined in our 2030 roadmap aim to position us as a model for the cosmetics industry.
