The role:
Deputising for the Building Services Manager. Ensure the Department provides the very best
level of service to Clarins employees, London & Harlow Office environment, which enhances
the company's image and ensures a safe environment that promotes wellbeing.
What you’ll do:
Mission 1: Buildings Management
- Deputise for the Building Service Manager (BSM) in their absence, including directing the work of the other Building Services Team members and carry out key holder duties.
- During the absence of the BSM to be “on call” 24/7, for advice, instruction, direction or, when required, site attendance in the event of a security alert (fire, flood or intrusion) at London Office (Cavendish Place).
- Provide cover on reception in the absence of a Receptionist.
- Support the Building Manager to supervise and assist with the development of the Building Services Operative.
- Assist with or implement the various maintenance checks outlined in the M&E contractor’s handbook.
- First line attendance of leaks, blockages and failures of kitchen and toilet facilities.
Mission 2: Health & Safety
- OngoingCarry out daily checks of the building and facilities, attending to or reporting any necessary maintenance or housekeeping issues
- Assist with regular checks on the fire and intruder and lift alarm systems.
- Assist with other regular, health, safety and environmental checks to ensure the safety of the building, its facilities and occupants.
- Carry out the ad-hoc PAT testing of electrical equipment.
- First line inspection and maintenance of equipment. E.g. printers, photocopiers, telephones, light fittings etc.
- Assist the People & Culture department with manual handling skills and Working at Height training
- Ensure Work Station Assessments are carried out annually and reviewed and any resultant actions are completed.
- Ensure there are First Aif & Fire Wardens to cover the building and mandatory training for First Aid and Fire Wardens is up-to-date.
Mission 3: Procurement & Contract Management
- Review in line with any contractual terms, the quality of service and costs of contractors & service suppliers used by the department and proposing, where appropriate, alternative contractors and suppliers in line with the company’s procurement procedures.
- Order, distribute and control the relevant kitchen consumables.
- Order, distribute and control stationery stock for both office and Sales Teams.
General Duties:
- Propose and implement measures that will reduce the company’s carbon footprint.
- Sort, distribute, collect and process daily incoming mail and deliveries.
- Keep all records, spreadsheets and relevant data, pertaining to the role, accurate and up-to-date.
- Carry out any other tasks requested by management within role holder capability.
You are:

You have:
- Preferred qualification NEBOSH or equivalent.
- Minimum requirement IOSH.
- Experience within the facilities & property management sector.
- Good knowledge of building compliance.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
- An excellent work ethic and team approach.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about pursuing a career within building services.
- Demonstrated personal responsibility for health and safety, data protection and other compliance areas.
